One of four new Riecken Community Libraries in Guatemala under construction has made great progress. The new library will be located on a hilltop at the entrance to the community of Palestina, Los Altos in Quetzaltenango, which serves as a hub for many surrounding villages. Built near local schools and homes on nearly 1900 square feet of municipality-donated land, the library design incorporates special construction guidelines to make the library sturdy and safe. We look forward to working with the new librarians and library board volunteers, and the library inauguration sometime in late 3Q.
