On September 20th, 2011 Luis Quino, Director of Programming in Guatemala presented copies of the recently published bi-lingual (Spanish and Mayan) books to Mr. Everette Larson at the Library of Congress for addition to their Hispanic Reading Room.   Luis reports that it was an honor for him to deliver this unique collection of books on behalf of Mayan communites in Central America.

Almost simultaneously a small “branch” library was inaugurated in the local prison in the community of Chiché, Guatemala. The prisoners were also given copies of the bi-lingual books and were very interested to hear that they were also being delivered to the Library of Congress in the United States.
